Locus
Locus was another site-specific project but different than Unfolding in that it was not performed on a stage but in a space comprised of two rooms and hallways, touching on the border between a staged performance and an installation. The music was written for a static viola, a moving soprano (who would walk along with the audience on a predetermined path made of bubble wrap) and electronics. Live video was also utilized here, but with the image (of the walking audience) being altered by special effects. The vocal part worked in conjunction with the electronics and was a mixture of sung and spoken words in English, Italian, and Spanish.
